Last Day!

Mondays and Labor Day

We will now be closed Mondays since school has started. However, we will be open Labor Day at 10:00 am.

Wednesday, August 13, 2008

We now have tomatoes every day. They are $1.50/lb. As we have enough tomatoes, we'll make bushels throughout the day. They are $30.00 for 50 lbs and $18.00 for 25 lbs.

All three stands are now open every day except Sunday. Once school starts on the 25th, we will also be closed Mondays.

Remember: we no longer accept checks. Thanks!

Monday, August 4, 2008

We'll have corn fairly steady for the next month or so.
Two of our locations, 4000 W and 4100 S, will be open every day but Sunday. The stand on 3500 S will be opening daily on Thursday on. Once school starts, all 3 stands will be closed Mondays as the workers will be picking the night before.
The corn is $0.40 an ear, which works out to $4.80/dozen.
Look for tomatoes mid-August.
We will occasionally have cucumbers and squash in the mornings. They will be $1.00 each.
Sorry, we no longer accept checks.

The schedule is subject to change at any time due to weather. :)

Remember: we will no longer accept checks. Thanks!

Corn

It looks like corn will start either Saturday, July 26th or Monday, July 28th. These are just guesses and not guarantees. :) There will be a break between the first set and the second set, but we're not sure for how long. We hope to see you soon!

Just as a reminder: we won't accept checks this year. Thanks!

CLOSED FOR THE SEASON

Today, July 3rd, was the last day for peas this season. Thank you for your patronage!

If you bought peas today and you'll be freezing them, we'd like to remind you to do so as soon as possible. If you'd like instructions on how to freeze and blanche vegetables, we recommend the website for the National Center for Home Food Preservation. The link for their instructions can be found here .

Thanks again!

Pea Pictures

Here are just a few fun pictures from past years' pea harvests.

Checks

Due to the high volume of returned checks we've received and subsequent incurred costs, we will no longer be accepting checks as payment at the stands this year. Since we don't have the means to accept debit or credit cards, cash will be the only accepted form of payment, so we ask you plan accordingly. Thank you for your patronage!

Shelled Peas

The peas are a bit late this year due to the cold and wet spring we've had, but they're coming soon! We're planning on having some Saturday June 28th and next Monday the 30th until Thursday or Friday. The stands open at 11:00 am and run until we're out for the day. Two of the stands will be open for peas: 3565 S 4000 W (behind Harmon's) and 5651 W 4100 S (by Hunter High School). The stand located at 4612 W 3500 S will be closed for peas due to road construction along 3500 S. The peas will be 2.75 a pound this year and we're not planning on a limit at this time.
